An
existing 79,000 sf tilt-up structure on the campus of
this Southern California Pharmaceutical Company was
converted by this project from a warehouse to use for
research and manufacturing. The space was developed
to house research and production related laboratories,
manufacturing space, machine shops, offices and various
support spaces. A new 24000 sf second floor was constructed
to accommodate the new functions and a new roof platform
was built to support large air handlers and fans added
as a part of this project. An Atrium Lobby was centrally
located to serve as a focal point along with it’s adjacent
conference and lunch rooms. The large Atrium skylights
were an attempt to bring light and an awareness of the
outdoors to a basically windowless structure.
